About

Ariel Susman

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Central New Jersey (License #37PC00861300) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York (License #011369).

I received my MA and EdM in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2019. I began my career in mental health as the Program Director of the Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention, Inc. prior to obtaining my Masters. There I learned how to be a strong advocate for mental health and connect with my community to provide necessary mental health services. I have since expanded my experience in the area of mental health through my work as a therapist and then Director of the Kadimah PROS intensive outpatient program at Ohel's Children Home and Family Services until 2022 when I began applying my clinical skills and knowledge to private practice.

My passion for the counseling field has driven my academic and professional career and I will continue to rely on this passion to help my clients and supervisees.

About
01.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a form of mental health counseling that focuses on one-on-one sessions between the therapist and the client. It can help individuals with various mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. I utilize evidence-based techniques to help clients work through their challenges and achieve their goals.

02.

I offer couples therapy to support couples in improving their communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening their relationships. I take a collaborative approach to therapy and I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.

03.

I offer family counseling to support families in improving their communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening their relationships while addressing unhealthy dynamics and patterns that have been established.

04.

Clinical Supervision

In addition to counseling services, I provide clinical supervision to current graduate mental health counseling students and individuals completing hours towards full licensure throughout New York and New Jersey. Clinical supervision includes weekly 1-hour sessions, continuous communication and support, as well as 24/7 support during clinical emergencies.
